ourplaceinthesunset.com ("we", "us") helps you find and reach out to apartments. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We keep it plain.

What we collect

• Account data. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your verified email address and a display name. We do not receive your password — authentication is handled by those providers.
• Usage data. We record which listings you viewed, approved, skipped, or sent outreach for. This drives your personalized feed and lets you review your history.
• Network data. We log source IP addresses for rate-limiting and abuse detection. Logs are rotated within 90 days.
• Payment data. We do not store card numbers or bank details. Stripe handles all payment processing and stores payment instruments on their servers.

Third parties that receive your data

• Stripe — subscription billing. Stripe receives your email and payment details when you subscribe.
• Resend — sends email on your behalf (e.g., outreach confirmation receipts). Resend receives recipient addresses and message content.
• Your voice agent provider — if you enable phone outreach, the call is placed through the agent you configure. That provider receives the phone script and the landlord's number.
• Crawlbase — we use Crawlbase to retrieve apartment listing pages from source sites. It processes URLs and page content; it does not receive your personal information.
• Umami Cloud — privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics. Umami receives anonymized page-view events (no personal identifiers).

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not build profiles for resale. Your outreach history is yours.

Data retention

• Account and listing data is kept while your account is active and for 30 days after you delete it.
• Outreach logs (who you contacted, when, what was sent) are kept for two years for fraud and abuse review.
• Scraped listing content is retained indefinitely — it is public data from source sites.

Your rights

You can request an export of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated records at any time. To do either, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Credentials are never stored in plaintext. We follow industry-standard practices and address security issues promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where practical, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
